Draxler 'sure' Schalke can beat Galatasaray
The Germany youngster is full of confidence ahead of the Gelsenkirchen outfit's clash with the Turkish giants, and believes his side will claim victory at the Bosporus
Schalke midfielder Julian Draxler is certain his team will be able to beat Galatasaray in their first-leg last-16 Champions League tie on Wednesday.Die Knappen made an impression in the competition's early stages and came out top of Group B, ahead of Premier League outfit Arsenal.
And the youngster is full of confidence of a success against Fatih Terim's men on Wednesday, despite their current struggle in Bundesliga under recently-appointed coach Jens Keller.
"With Gala, we drew a team that are a do-able task in my opinion. I'm sure we will be able to get a good result against them," the 19-year-old told reporters at the airport as the team prepared to fly to Istanbul.
"We will prepare well for Galatasaray. I think, when we reflect on the group stage, we had some good games. We defeated Arsenal commandingly at their own home. Those are the types of opponents we want to compare ourselves with.
"I'm very, very confident that we will be able to further step up our game and build on our strong group stage performance."
Galatasaray will host Schalke on February 20 at the Turk Telekom Arena, kick-off is scheduled for 20.45CET.
