TEAM NEWS: Rooney keeps place as Manchester United make 10 changes for Cluj match

Sir Alex Ferguson picks a young squad for the hosts including Scott Wootton and Alexander Buttner in defence with Nick Powell in midfield as the host have already qualified
Wayne Rooney continues up front as expected for Manchester United in their final Champions League group stage match against Cluj at Old Trafford.

Elsewhere, Sir Alex Ferguson makes 10 changes to the side that overcame Reading in a thrilling 4-3 victory on Saturday, with the emphasis on youth as Scott Wooton and Alexander Buttner start in defence, and Nick Powell also plays from the off in midfield.

Players such as Robin van Persie and Rio Ferdinand are being rested with United already qualified for the next stage as group winners.

At 27, Rooney is the oldest player in the starting XI bar Ryan Giggs, with Paul Scholes, Anders Lindegaard and Darren Fletcher the only other players in the squad over that age.

David de Gea reclaims his place in goal as Sir Alex continues his rotation policy, while one Chris Smalling and Phil Jones will partner Wootton in the centre, with the other deployed at right-back.
