The duo are set to miss the Blues' final Champions League group game as manager Rafa Benitez states that the pair are not ready to make their comeback from injury just yet

Chelsea manager Rafa Benitez has revealed that the club's Champions League game against FC Nordsjaelland will come too soon for John Terry and Frank Lampard to make their comeback from injury.

The pair are yet to play under the Spaniard following his appointment as Blues boss on November 22, having already spent several games on the sidelines.

Lampard returned to full training on Tuesday as he recovers from a calf injury but, like Terry, who is still suffering from a knee injury, will not be risked in their final group match.

Benitez told reporters on Tuesday: "Tomorrow's game is still too early for John Terry and Frank Lampard."

To progress from Group E, Chelsea need to beat their Danish opponents on Wednesday and hope that the result from the clash between Juventus and Shakhtar Donetsk goes in their favour to win.

"We cannot be worrying about the other game tomorrow, we have to focus on winning our own game," the Blues manager remarked.

"The main thing for us is to win. [Fernando] Torres is an important player for us but we need goals from other players too. I am confident we'll do well tomorrow. The players know we have to win, and win well tomorrow, we are ready."

The Spaniard is determined to bounce back from the 3-1 Premier League defeat to West Ham on Saturday and feels that, despite the loss, there were encouraging signs on the pitch.

"We have to analyse what happened in the second half on Saturday and provide a solution to ensure it doesn't happen again," he continued.

"There are a lot of positives to take from Saturday's game. The players are working really hard and training very well. Every training session the commitment is there, players want to win and they are working hard to perform."
