Inter's Claudio Ranieri: We are aiming for a Champions League spot
The Nerazzurri coach has admitted that winning the Scudetto could prove to be impossible, and stressed that reaching European club football's elite competition is the team's goal
By Stefan Coerts
The 2010 Champions League winners currently sit fifth in the league table, trailing table toppers Juventus by nine points, and Ranieri feels that Inter only have a shot at the title if all their rivals slip up.
"It's not that I file our title ambitions away, then pull it out again, then file it away again," Ranieri was quoted as saying on the club's official website.
"We're going step by step, because the teams at the top are really flying.
"So if they don't slow down then we won't make it. We're hunting for a Champions League spot."
Inter are currently preparing for Wednesday's Serie A match at home against Palermo.
