Barcelona's Javier Mascherano looks ahead as he speaks of his teams ambitions to win La Liga and the Champions League
Barcelona progressed to the final of the Champions League after a 1-1 draw at the Camp Nou saw the Catalan side overcome their fierce rivals, Real Madrid, 3-1 on aggregate.
Javier Mascherano, who was playing in a central defensive position tonight, said to the press after the game: “We have won nothing; the season is not over yet. We still have to the league [to fight for].”
Mascherano was lucky to be awarded a free-kick early in the second-half which saw Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain’s goal ruled out as a consequence. However, he stayed clear of the incident.
“We will try everything to achieve what we have been aiming for. We have not achieved anything yet,” the former Liverpool star concluded.
Barcelona need four points to secure another La Liga title and will hope to complete a double success when they travel to Wembley on Saturday May 28 to play either Manchester United or Schalke.
The English side take a 2-0 lead going into the second-leg on Wednesday night and are the favorites to play Barcelona, in what would be a re-match of the 2009 Champions League final.
