thumbnail Hello,

Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta felt that his side had achieved a great deal by knocking out Real Madrid on the way to yet another Champions League final

Barcelona attacking midfielder Andres Iniesta has expressed his delight at reaching the Champions League final, particularly given that they overcame arch enemies Real Madrid in the semi-final.

Iniesta was outstanding in the second leg and he delivered a superb through-ball that led to Pedro putting the home side ahead at Camp Nou.

"This is a unique moment. The fact that we're in a final having beaten an opponent as strong as Real Madrid means a lot," he was quoted as saying by Eurosport.

"We had one of the best teams around in front of us and we have even more reason to celebrate because it is very difficult to achieve the feat of reaching a final."

Iniesta then shrugged off the bad blood that has broken out between the teams of late.

"These things are normal. Going beyond the rivalry, beyond fighting for your own interests, fair play must take precedence. I just want to talk about football and not about non-sporting matters."

Finally, Iniesta stressed that the tournament is not yet won, with Manchester United or Schalke awaiting Barcelona in the final at Wembley on May 28.

"We have taken a very important step but we still have to play the final. Hopefully we can get it right and win another Champions League for our supporters."
