Seongnam Ilhwa Looking To Break Tradition Against Inter Milan - Dzenan Radoncic
Montenegrin striker Dzenan Radoncic wants Seongnam Ilhwa to break European and South American dominance at the CWC.
Seongnam Ilhwa are looking to break tradition at the Club World Cup by beating Inter Milan in the semi final and becoming the first Asian team to win the tournament. The Asian Champions League winners would be the first side outside of Europe or South America to lift the CWC trophy if they were to defeat Inter and then African outfit TP Mazembe in the final
“We were thinking about Inter even before our first game against Al Wahda to be completely honest," Radondic told FIFA's official website. "And we believe we can beat them.
"We’re here as Asian champions and we want to break the tradition of only European and South American teams winning this competition.”
The K-League outfit couldn't have asked for much more illustrious opposition in the semi final, a reward for their 4-1 win over Al Wahda in the quarters.
For Motenegrin striker Radoncic it caps a wonderful year in which his goals helped Seongnam to a memorable continental triumph. He is now looking to take the next step in his career and make his international debut for his adopted home.
