Arsenal skipper Cesc Fabregas is adamant that his team is ready to take on Barcelona who they were drawn against in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

Barcelona defeated the Gunners in the Champions League final in 2006, and are the current holders after defeating Manchester United in the final last season, but Fabregas knows that in this elite field any team would make for a tough match-up.

"If you want to win this competition, you have to beat everyone who is coming," Fabregas told ITV Sport.

"If we had been drawn against Bordeaux or Lyon we would have taken it the same way.

"Barcelona is a great team, but we always go with the same mentality and that is to win."

The Spanish giants are arguably the best team in club football, with perhaps the best and most in-form player in the world in Lionel Messi, but Fabregas, who was a Barcalona youth team member, insists that his team are looking to playing them.

"We are going to play against the best team in Europe, probably in the world.

"The boys are really looking forward to it as it is another opportunity to play against a great team in a great stadium. It will be very exciting."
