Pick Your Arsenal Team To Face Porto
How will your line-up compare with Arsene Wenger’s?
Matthew Weiner
Calling all armchair managers! The time has come to pit your wits against Arsene Wenger and see whether he agrees with your team selection for Arsenal’s Champions League match against Porto.
Arsenal go into this crucial game without long term absentees Robin van Persie, Johan Djorou, Kieran Gibbs and Aaron Ramsey plus there are doubts over the fitness of William Gallas.
But the biggest blow to the Gunners comes with the withdrawal of creative spark and skipper Cesc Fabregas who was ruled out by Arsene Wenger on Monday.
Bearing this news in mind, here’s Goal.com's preferred line-up, in a 4-3-3 formation:
Almunia; Clichy, Vermaelen, Campbell, Eboue; Diaby, Song, Nasri; Walcott, Bendtner, Arshavin
With his goal-scoring return at the weekend Andrey Arshavin is the right man to come in on the left, whilst Nasri could play in the advanced midfield role.
Up front the misfiring Bendtner will hope to exorcise those demons from the weekend while Walcott should continue to demonstrate why he should go to the World Cup this summer.
