Report: Milan Defender Massimo Oddo Suffers Gluteal Strain

The right-back is a doubt for the trip to Catania after picking up a muscle problem last night...

Milan defender Massimo Oddo will have scans at the Rossoneri’s training base today after limping off just 28 minutes into yesterday’s Champions League 1-1 draw with Marseille at the San Siro.

According to MilanNews.it, the initial diagnosis of the Diavoli medical staff is that the 33-year-old sustained a left gluteus strain, but further tests will be needed to determine the extent of the damage.

If Oddo is ruled out of Sunday's Serie A clash with relegation strugglers Catania, Ignazio Abate is expected to get the nod at right-back.

Boss Leonardo will already be without influential playmaker Andrea Pirlo for the journey to Sicily, as the Italian international is set to serve a one-game suspension.
