The rumours linking the Bavarian midfielder to the Blaugrana have gone into hyperdrive over the past few weeks, and the 26-year-old has even confessed himself that he would love to play for the Catalan giants.
He was seen chatting with Abidal in midweek after Bayern’s Champions League clash with Barca at the Allianz Arena, and the Spanish press were hoping that the defender might have an inside scoop.
“Ribery is someone I know very well, but I do not know what he wants to do next season,” Abidal was quoted as saying by Marca.
“I chatted with him and his friends and cousins, who I also know well, but we talked about non-footballing matters.
“In any case, I think he would adapt very well in La Liga and Barca can really take advantage of his explosiveness and his pace.
“He’s a player who’s at the same level as Messi, Henry and Eto’o… a player who can easily make a difference.
“He’s a good friend of mine and if he wants to change clubs, then I would be delighted if he were to come here.
