thumbnail Hello,

The Lupi captain has been slapped with a hefty ban in the Coppa Italia...

Roma captain Francesco Totti has been hit with a four-match ban for kicking out at Inter striker Mario Balotelli in last week's Coppa Italia final.

Totti lashed out at the striker late in the second half of Roma's 1-0 defeat and was shown a red card for kicking Balotelli from behind.

And the Lega Calcio have confirmed the ban on their official website.

An extract from the statement reads:

"Four-match ban for Francesco Totti for incorrect behaviour towards an opponenent (first sanction), in addition, for kicking out at an opponent with intent in the 43rd minute of the second half."

The Lega confirmed Mario Balotelli has been given a one-match ban for protesting to the referee. Cristian Chivu has also been banned for one game for the same offence.

Roma have received a €40,000 fine for failing to control the fans who made racial chants against Inter and threw bottles and other objects on the pitch.

Inter director Gabriele Oriali has been banned from covering every role under FIGC guidlines until June 30,2010 for having used insulting language towards the match officials.

The decision means he will not be able to sit on the bench for Inter's final Serie A clash against Siena on Sunday.
