The Uruguayan international, whose season has already been badly affected by a hamstring tear, has picked up a minor ankle problemDiego Forlan is reportedly an injury doubt for Inter’s Serie A meeting with Parma at San Siro on Saturday.
According to Sky Italia, The Uruguayan international suffered a minor ankle injury in training on Tuesday and is now in danger of missing the Nerazzurri’s first game back after the winter break.
While Forlan is not thought to be at risk of sitting out the Milan derby the following weekend, his absence from the squad would be a blow for both the player and his club given he has only just returned to first-team duty after a lengthy period out with a severe hamstring tear.
Meanwhile, Mauro Zarate will return to training on Wednesday after being given time off by coach Claudio Ranieri following the birth of his first child.
Inter are to train at the Giuseppe Meazza as they attempt to get used to the stadium’s newly re-laid playing surface.
