The midfielder lamented the loss to the Blucerchiati...Roma midfielder Simone Perrotta bemoaned a sense of Deja vu as the Giallorossi felt the Serie A trophy with their fingertips before Inter snatched it away from them in the second half courtesy of a Diego Milito goal against Siena.
The final day of the season brought back unwanted memories of 2007/08 for Perrotta, when Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored a second half brace against Parma to turn the tide in the Beneamata's favour.
"This was like two years ago, we had a sense of Deja vu - in the second half everything changed for the worse," Perrotta told Roma Channel.
"It's a regret not to have brought home the title. The start was crucial - we weren't expecting to be playing for the Scudetto on the final day.
"It was all building into a crescendo, but unfortunately we didn't beat Sampdoria. We were spectacular in the first half. We deserved to win that game," he lamented.
