thumbnail Hello,

“It was my last game at the Olimpico…”

Roma striker Francesco Totti has chosen to use irony to dismiss press suggestions that he might quit football at the end of the season.

There were reports yesterday that Totti considered hanging up his boots in the wake of his red card in the Coppa Italia final against Inter for a vicious kick at Mario Balotelli.

When asked after a 2-1 defeat of Cagliari if that had been his final appearance at the Olimpico, Totti smiled on Sky Sport 24: “Oh  yes, that was the last one…”

‘Er Pupone’ netted a brace yesterday to keep the Giallorossi in the hunt for the Serie A title with one game remaining, and added: “We have got so far and keep having faith.”

Roma must win away to Chievo next Sunday and hope that leaders Inter slip up at Siena if they are to win the Scudetto for the first time in nine years.
