As Bologna prepare to take on Catania in a game which could seal the club’s Serie A status for next season, Franco Colomba gave his views on the recent incidents which marred the Coppa Italia final between Inter and Roma.
“As an ex-player, I can say that [Francesco] Totti’s foul was not the type intended to harm the opposing player,” Colomba declared to CorrieredelloSport.
“It was more a kick of frustration, but this does not mean it was justified.
“Nevertheless, the player deserves forgiveness, as it’s never easy to lose a final in such a manner in front of your own fans.
“Totti is a champion and whilst he made an error, he didn’t intend to harm [Mario] Balotelli.”
