Roma talisman Francesco Totti has singled out fellow striker Jeremy Menez for special praise after the ex-Monaco man inspired the Giallorossi to a 4-2 win over Udinese on Saturday.
Menez, 22, has failed to live up to his billing at the Olimpico since joining the club in 2008, but stole the show against the Friulani to help the Giallorossi reignite their title hopes and Totti took notice.
“After a 4-2 defeat of Udinese I want to congratulate all my team-mates,” the skipper writes on his official website.
“But I want to praise Menez’s display in particular. He played marvellously, not only for himself but also for the team.”
The result lifted Roma to within four points of leaders Inter, who visit the Olimpico next Saturday when Totti could make his long-awaited comeback from a knee injury.
