Roma captain Francesco Totti has refused to concede defeat in the Serie A title race despite the Giallorossi failing to close in on leaders Inter last weekend.

Relegation strugglers Livorno twice came from behind to hold Roma to a 3-3 draw which left Claudio Ranieri’s men six points off the pace, but Totti writes on his weekly column in Il Corriere dello Sport newspaper: “The league is still wide open from the top to the bottom of the standings: Scudetto, Champions League, Europa League and survival.

“From now until the end of the season there is all to play for and anything can spring up surprises…”

Totti also admitted there is still no precise date for his comeback from a knee injury.

“I’m recovering and trying to develop a sufficient fitness condition,” he explained.

“Of course, I’d like to be at the team’s disposal as soon as possible. But this will be done at the right moment, between the end of March and the beginning of April.”
