Roma Midfielder Simone Perrotta Hails ‘Extraordinary’ Francesco Totti
Perrotta has paid tribute to the Giallorossi captain after his exploits against Bari. In addition, he has also pondered his chances of making the World Cup squad...
“Totti is extraordinary,” Perrotta enthused on the Roma Channel.
“We are all satisfied with this victory. We did well in the first half, but not so much in the second.
“However, we collected three crucial points and started over on the right foot.”
Perrotta, a key member of the Italy side who conquered the planet in 2006, then went on to reflect on his chances of making the Azzurri squad for next summer’s World Cup finals.
“I don’t know if I deserve the national team or not,” he mused.
“It’s up to [coach Marcello] Lippi. After all, at this same stage I was not even being considered as a potential recruit four years ago.”
