Julio Cesar: Inter Will Retain Serie A Title
04-Oct-2009 3:58:11 PM
Last night’s dramatic win over Udinese has prompted a cheeky prediction from the Brazilian ‘keeper…
Serie A giants Inter left it late to overcome Udinese at the San Siro, but goalkeeper Julio Cesar believes the gutsy 2-1 success is a good omen for the rest of the season.“What a game!” he beamed on the Inter Channel. “Ever since I moved to Italy, Udinese always make us suffer , but we wanted to win it at all costs and are now back at the top of the table.”
Inter took the lead through Dejan Stankovic, but Udinese skipper Antonio Di Natale hit back before Wesley Sneijder netted a late winner.
“My good friend Stankovic scored a wonderful goal, but if I had been in goal I would have saved it…” joked the Brazilian international.
“Now I will travel to Brazil as a happy man: Inter have secured a crucial victory and in the end we will win again.”
The reigning champions now lead the way with 16 points from seven games but could be leapfrogged by both Sampdoria and Juventus this afternoon.
