The Slovak star is not interested in joining the reigning Italian champions.Napoli’s Marek Hamsik enjoyed an outstanding season last term, which consequently saw him take out the young Slovak footballer of the year award.
At just 21 years of age, Hamsik has a bright and prosperous future ahead, and according to reports over the past few weeks and months, he did have the opportunity to join the champions of Italy, Inter, who are extremely interested in acquiring his services.
Despite that, the Partenopei have remained adamant that they will not be offloading their star midfielder, whilst the player himself has spoken for the first time since the latest rumours surrounding his future emerged just a few days ago.
“I still have a long contract with Napoli, so I can confirm that I will remain here,” Hamsik declared in an interview with SkySport24.
“We have made some key signings so far, and all of these great players will help this team grow further.”
These latest words are sure to boost the Partenopei, a club desperate to achieve a place in Europe for the 2010-11 season.
