The French teenager has praised the impact the Santiago Bernabeu side's head coach has already made on his development as a professional

Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane has taken the time to praise head coach Jose Mourinho, as the youngster feels the former Chelsea manager knows exactly what he needs in order to become a better player.

The 18-year-old centre-back joined Madrid from French outfit Lens in the summer transfer window, and he admits he is very pleased with the way things are going at his new club.

"He [Mourinho] knows exactly what a youngster like me needs in order to become a better player. His training methods are of the highest level," Varane was quoted as saying by AS.

"It's true that everything is going very fast for me at the moment. I wasn't even training with the first team yet at Lens one year ago. Now I've worn the jersey of Real Madrid in a full Santiago Bernabeu."

Varane made his official Real Madrid debut in the scoreless La Liga draw against Racing Santander on September 21.
