One of the world’s best footballers, Lionel Messi, has finally opened himself up to his fans by joining Facebook and has quickly drawn millions of fans…
The 23-year-old Argentina international is noted for his shyness in front of media and propensity to keep his personal life under wraps. However, on Wednesday Messi finally decided to open himself up more to his fans by joining Facebook.
The two-time Ballon d’Or winner already has almost seven million fans in just one day on the social networking site, according to the Associated Press, and is certainly going to have more fans added to the list as he gains more exposure on the public platform.
Messi himself is excited at having joined his Barcelona team-mates Andres Iniesta, Gerard Pique, David Villa and Pedro Rodriguez on the site and wrote: "I am so excited! From now on we will be more closely connected through facebook."
Messi, though, does not have an account on Twitter, which is one of the fastest growing social networking and microblogging services on the internet.
