thumbnail Hello,

The Balearic outfit have it all to do to qualify for the Champions League now...

Mallorca coach Gregorio Manzano has declared that the difference between Real Madrid and Barcelona and the rest of the Primera Liga is "astronomical" after los Merengues left the ONO Stadi with the full spoils in a 4-1 win thanks largely to a devastating individual display from Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Barralets lead through an early goal from Aritz Aduriz but despite some decent chances, failed to extend their lead and Ronaldo equalised to leave it 1-1 at the break before adding two more after the break. Gonzalo Higuain rounded the night off with a well taken lob over Dudu Aouate.

Afterwards Manzano had to acknowledge the superiority of los Merengues and in particular Cristiano Ronaldo.

"For 60 minutes we played a very good game. We kept the order, nullified Madrid and we created chances but the second goal affected us in terms of mindset. Then, we opened up looking for an equalizer and Cristiano Ronaldo has scored in individual actions. He is very dangerous with the ball at his feet," Manzano said at the post match press conference.

"It is very difficult to take the ball off Madrid, despite the enormous physical effort we made. The difference between Madrid and Barcelona with the rest of the teams is astronomical."
