Eric Abidal - Barcelona
Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola received alarming news today as the only member of his starting back line in the match against Getafe last weekend still available was ruled out for two months with an injury.

As reported by Sport, Eric Abidal, who had to retire from training today with an injury, underwent medical testing which revealed a muscle tear in his left leg. Abidal's injury leaves Barca's back line woefully thin for Barcelona's next Liga match against Atletico de Madrid at the Vicente Calderon, as Dani Alves has been ruled out for three weeks and both Rafa Marquez and Gerard Pique will miss the match because of red card suspensions.

Furthermore, defensive midfielder Yaya Toure, who can serve as a central defender, is out for two weeks and Carles Puyol continues to recover from a minor knock with the hope of making it back in time to lead his team against the Rojiblancos.

Finally, both Andres Iniesta and Gerard Pique ended training with minor injuries, but it is not anticipated that either injury will be a serious impediment.
