Former Barcelona midfielder Rivaldo has declared that Lionel Messi has everything in his armoury to become a legend of the game.

Rivaldo, who currently plays for Bunyodkor in Uzbekistan, was part of the Barca side that won the Primera Liga and Copa del Rey double in 1998 and he won the 2002 World Cup with Brazil.

He was also crowned FIFA World Player of the Year and Ballon d'Or winner in 1999 and he says that Messi has what it takes to put himself among the all-time greats.

"He [Messi] is very young and look at everything that he has already achieved. With his talent and youth he is destined to become a legendary player,' he said, according to Sport.

"His technical and physical conditions are very special, that's why he's so good. He is unstoppable. Surely it will take a World Cup win to take his place among the greats of football history, although this is relative. [Alfredo] Di Stefano and [Johan] Cruyff never won it won and both are considered two of the three best of all time."
