Real Madrid coach Manuel Pellegrini has reportedly been given two games to save himself from the sack following a humiliating 4-0 loss at the hands of unknown Segunda Division B side Alcorcon in the Copa del Rey, according to reports in the Spanish press.

Real have now won just one game in their last five outings which have included three defeats but the latest loss, in the first leg of the Copa tie has Madrid directors ready to wield the axe on the Chilean coach.

A summer spending spree in the region of €250 million by president Florentino Perez has expectations at the Bernabeu at an all time high and the floundering performances of late are causing some concern.

The decision making by Pellegrini has raised a number of questions at board level and the poor performances of Royston Drenthe, Alvaro Arbeloa, Sergio Ramos and Marcelo of late have raised further doubts about Pellegrini as a coach.

AS and Sport both report that a defeat against Getafe at the weekend or against Milan next week in the UEFA Champions League will spell the end for the coach who joined from Villarreal during the summer.
