Cristiano Ronaldo Never Said He Is Ready To Return For Real Madrid - Manuel Pellegrini
The coach has played down the idea that 'CR9' is ready to make his comeback this weekend...
Despite earlier claims to the contrary, Real Madrid coach Manuel Pellegrini has denied Cristiano Ronaldo said that he will be ready to face Sporting Gijon on Saturday.
The Portuguese star is currently suffering from an ankle injury, which was originally thought to keep him out until next month.
"It's not true, like so much information that comes out," Pellegrini is quoted as saying by ABC.es.
"Cristiano has never said that he is able to play. He knows the treatment he has, that there are still some days to go in his recuperation.
"He is a professional. He needs to work with the ball and recover his fitness before he can return to the team. The doctors are the most appropriate to talk about his condition."
Pellegrini also spoke about his decision to leave Karim Benzema and Gonzalo Higuain out of his squad to face Sporting this weekend, which has resulted in a call up to the first team for Javier Acuna.
"Unfortunately Higuain has not completed his recovery while Benzema has some very strong pains and cannot play either.
"We have some key injuries and we have decided to call up Acuna to travel to Gijon with the team."
