La Liga Team Of The Week: Round 6

There were surprises, shocks, goals and so much more in the sixth set of games in la Primera...

Jesus Navas, Sevilla (Peace Cup)
BEST XI

Formation: 4-3-3

Goalkeeper

David De Gea (Atletico Madrid)
: The 18-year-old keeper showed no nerves and was key in helping Los Colchoneros win their first game of the season. Beat off competition from Iker Casillas because he was on a winning team and his saves led to his side securing an important victory.

Defenders

Miguel Torres (Getafe)
: Now settled with los Azulones, the former Real Madrid player has set about proving to los Merengues that they should have given him more of a chance as he stood out in the win over Mallorca. Both going forward and tracking back he has been a solid addition by coach Michel.

Diego Colotto (Deportivo): Has impressed before this term with the Galicians and the central defender shone again as he capped a great display by scoring the winning goal in Tenerife. Strong in the air at both ends of the pitch, he has formed an understanding with Albert Lopo that could see the club rise again.

Angel Dealbert (Valencia): After arriving at the Mestalla in the summer, the centre-back had to impress, but he has often caused concern. That was until a solid display against Racing saw him help the team keep a clean sheet and ensure Tchite's influence was limited.

Adriano (Sevilla): As attacking full-backs go, many either gallop forward and do not make it back on occasion or they do not push up enough and are accused of not being creative. The Brazilian falls into neither category as his outstanding display against Madrid was crucial.

Midfielders

Pedro Leon (Getafe)
: Cannot stop scoring wonder goals as another set piece against Osasuna would win many goal-of-the-week competitions. When the club were rebuilding during the summer few predicted that the new midfielder would have such an effect, but he is becoming a firm favourite.

Miguel De la Cuevas (Sporting Gijon): The Asturians do not receive much press among the national papers in Spain, but their classy demolition of Real Mallorca has made people sit up and the midfielder's brace did too. The first was simple, but his second was a peach and capped a superb display.

Jesus Navas (Sevilla): The talk of Cristiano Ronaldo not being available dominated the build-up to the match, but it was the Sevilla winger that stole the show with an outstanding performance. Now if he can overcome his anxiety disorder Spain will step up yet another level.

Forwards

Pedro (Barcelona): In a club that likes to sign outstanding forwards you have to be exceptional to make it, and the youngster has staked his own claim and his second goal in a week showed that he has what it takes. In a tight match his winner lit up Camp Nou.

Nikola Zigic (Valencia): The lofty Serbian striker has had very few chances to shine with los Che so when he came off the bench against his former club Racing Santander he had to seize the opportunity and he did just that with a superb finish to win the game for the visitors at El Sardinero.

Andres Guardado (Deportivo): Technique, pace, control, attitude and work-rate were all on display as the Mexican forward ran Tenerife ragged. He could and should have created more but for the finishing of his colleagues and he could well have added to the scoreline himself.
