Real Madrid Defender Christoph Metzelder Ponders Hertha Berlin Move
The German defender appears to be assessing his options...
The Germany international is believed to be frustrated with his lack of playing time and is considering a new challenge ahead of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
In an interview with Borse Online, Metzelder revealed that his future may lie in his homeland after two disappointing years abroad.
"Maybe I will go to Hertha," Metzelder noted.
Hertha Berlin manager, Michael Preetz, however, has stated that "there has been no contact" between the club and the defender.
Metzelder, who has one more year to run on his deal with Real Madrid, is viewed as a possible replacement for Joe Simunic, who left Hertha for Hoffenheim for €7 million.
