Jose Manuel Pinto Pleased With Barcelona Copa Del Rey Shut-Out
The Blaugrana's comfortable first leg victory should be enough to see them through, and their second string goalkeeper was happy with the overall performance of the side...
Jose Manuel Pinto was pleased with his first appearance of the season for Barcelona. He kept a clean sheet in a comfortable Copa del Rey win against Cultural on Wednesday evening.
The Blaugrana's back-up custodian is content to play second fiddle to Victor Valdes in the league and then take his chances when the cup campaign starts.
Against Cultural he was rarely called into action, but the team performance was impressive as the unfamiliar line-up combined to virtually end the tie as a contest with a 2-0 win.
Last season at the same stage Barca struggled to overcome lowly Benidorm, edging to two 1-0 victories, and Pinto was happy there was no repeat of that.
“When things are done well it’s easy to keep a clean sheet," the custodian was quoted as saying by the club's official website.
“In training, I try and work on details such as measuring distances.
“We’ve learned the lesson of last year against Benidorm.”
