Jerzy Dudek Looking To Take His Chance In Real Madrid's Copa del Rey Campaign

The Polish stopper wants his side to go far in the competition so he can enjoy some rare game-time...

Jerzey Dudek - Real Madrid
Real Madrid goalkeeper Jerzy Dudek has implored his team-mates to perform in the Copa del Rey, starting with this week's clash against minnows Alcorcon, so that he has a chance to have a run in the side.

The former Liverpool man has barely featured since joining los Merengues in 2007, making only eight appearances in all competitions - the vast majority of which have come in the cup.

"I have big hopes," Dudek enthused to AS.

"It's a chance for those players who play less. I need the team to be in the Copa del Rey for as long as possible."

Real Madrid's preparations for the game included a visit to the shopping centre at Xanadu in Madrid, where the team received a course of driving in snow and ice on the indoor ski slopes.

Club president Florentino Perez, who accompanied the squad, will be hoping that some of his players' skills are more suited to the football pitch. Ruud van Nistelrooy and Kaka had to abandon their cars after they both got stuck on the slopes.
