The Frenchman impressed alongside Emmanuel Frimpong in the League Cup and says the Gunners still have somethings to learn despite believing they matched their opponents

Francis Coquelin believes Arsenal can take plenty of positives despite losing to Manchester City in the League Cup quarter-final.

Sergio Aguero’s goal was the difference between the two sides but Coquelin impressed in midfield alongside Emmanuel Frimpong and was praised by Yossi Benayoun for his performance.

The 20-year-old has made his way into the Arsenal squad this season, even starting in the 8-2 loss to Manchester United, and he believes there is still plenty to learn after playing in a match against City in front of the Emirates faithful.

"It was a really good effort, I thought we did really well," he told Arsenal Player.

"Manchester City played a strong side and it was a hard game but we did well and we're disappointed to lose. In the first half we did well and we had a strong second half.

"We will take the positives from tonight when we look back at it. We have learned a lot. When you play in front of this crowd there is always something for us to learn."
