Returning Arsenal Midfielder Samir Nasri Relishing North London Derby
Fit-again Gunner hungry for more games
Arsenal midfielder Samir Nasri was pleased to make his long-awaited return to action in his side's defeat of Liverpool in the League Cup on Wednesday night, and is hungry to play more games.
The Frenchman had been out with a fractured fibula, and is now relishing the opportunity of playing a part in Saturday's north London derby against Tottenham Hotspur.
He said: "There is nothing better than a derby against Tottenham. It has been a while since both teams met each other while so high in the table."
And Nasri was positive about his return to the field after so long out.
"The boss asked me two or three times during the game how I felt and I had to make a sign if I felt the slightest touch, but everything was alright.
"I was very satisfied with my comeback. After five months without playing I had appetite; I wanted to get around the pitch and touch the ball.
"I thought it would have been a little bit more difficult. We worked with the physical assistant, now I need to play and play again."
Nasri was also wary of not pushing himself too much, saying: "The most important thing is not to suffer a relapse."
The midfielder also remains upbeat on Arsenal's Premier League chances this season after a strong opening few months to the campaign, before recently dropping points to West Ham and AZ Alkmaar.
"We were almost invincible for ten games before [the West Ham and AZ Alkmaar fixtures].
"Now it is necessary to win again in the Premier League," he added.
