Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard: We have to believe glory days can return to Anfield
The England international, who had an injury plagued 2011, hopes Saturday’s fourth-round of the FA Cup clash at Anfield with Manchester United lives up to the hype

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard says fans and players “have to believe” the glory days can return to Anfield.
The England international recently returned from a spell out from injury and has been enjoying a goalscoring return to first-team action.
Gerrard has scored in the last two cup games for the Merseyside club and is hopeful the side can not only win more trophies in the short term but push forward in the long run.
“We have to believe and be patient, it will happen,” Gerrard told ITV Sport.
“We're confident that we've got the players in the squad and we've got confidence in the new owners and coaching staff that they can continue to move the club forward.”
The Reds face Manchester United, English football's dominant force over the last 20 years, on Saturday in the fourth-round of the FA Cup and Gerrard summed the game up as “the biggest game of the season”.
He added: “The two most successful teams in the country – it’s natural to have a massive rivalry.”
