Striker wants to end the campaign strongly by qualifying for Europa League with win over relegation threatened Birmingham, and reveals pride in win over in-form former club
Spurs' efforts to secure a second successive season of Champions League football came unstuck following their 1-0 away defeat to Manchester City earlier this month, a defeat which saw Roberto Mancini's men secure their place amongst Europe’s elite.
However, a 2-0 victory over fifth-place rivals Liverpool has rejuvenated Harry Redknapp’s men, who are now in pole position to qualify for the Europa League, and England international Crouch is determined to end the campaign on a high.
Speaking to Tottenham’s official website, Crouch said: "We didn’t want the season to just fade away. The fans who travelled to Liverpool expected the team to perform and we didn’t want it to just drift off.
"We’d missed out on the Champions League next season and it would have been easy to let the season fall away but the manager said there was no way we could do that.
"To beat an in-form Liverpool team at Anfield was great and we have to make sure we finish the season strongly in front of our own fans against Birmingham."
