Chelsea Legend Marcel Desailly: John Terry Has Lost All Credibility At Stamford Bridge

John Terry has lost the faith of the Chelsea players, including Frank Lampard and flair attacker Joe Cole, according to former Blues captain Marcel Desailly.

Having witnessed a dip in form, Terry's biggest battle could involve winning back the support of his own team-mates, as allegations of his extra-marital affair continues to wreak havoc on the defender at both club and country level.

"Knowing John Terry well I know why he is not playing the way he normally does," Desailly said in The Sun.

"He was catastrophic against Inter Milan [in the Champions League]."

Terry was also deemed to have produced an underwhelming display against Manchester City, and - according to Desailly - the centre back has lost all "credibility" at Stamford Bridge.

"You have to understand that John is a born leader and captain of this Chelsea side since 2004," Desailly added.

"Now he has no credibility whatsoever within the club and this is being felt.

"No one is following him. Lampard, Joe Cole and the others who knew Wayne Bridge no longer allow him to be the leader."

Terry's indisrections affected Desailly, who had to deny rumours he was one of the five Chelsea player who allegedly slept with Wayne Bridge's former girlfriend Vanessa Perroncel.

"I'm absolutely adamant that nothing happened between me and that lady," he said in February.
