Former Liverpool Midfielder Jamie Redknapp Praises Dirk Kuyt's Performances
Dutch hero the first name on Rafa's team sheet...
By Adithya Ananth
Former Liverpool midfielder Jamie Redknapp is all praise for the recent performances put in by Dirk Kuyt, insisting the Dutchman's recent goals have shown his true worth to the club.
There have been questions in the past as to whether the skill that the Netherlands international possesses is worthy of the Red jersey, but his work rate on the pitch has never been a topic of debate.
"Dirk Kuyt is not everyone’s cup of tea but his manager loves him and picks him whenever he’s fit," Redknapp said in the Daily Mail.
"He seems to be the first name on Rafa Benitez’s team sheet and winning goals in the last two games show his value to the club. He’s not the best player Liverpool have ever had, but there aren’t too many who have worked as hard for the red shirt."
Kuyt has bagged four goals in his last four outings for the Reds, most recently scoring the winner in the 213th Merseyside derby against Everton.
