Chelsea Boss Carlo Ancelotti Hopes For Stellar Performance From Didier Drogba Against Hull City
'Carletto' stresses importance of getting three points at KC Stadium...
By Adithya Ananth
Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti is hoping that striker Didier Drogba can mark his return to club football with a top performance against Hull City.
The London club travel to face the Tigers at the KC Stadium with Manchester United right on their coattails in the Premier League table, and a victory against Phil Brown's charges will put the Blues four points clear at the top.
As the stakes slowly rise as the business end of the season approaches, Ancelotti hopes that his big-name players will continue to produce stellar performances.
"Didier is fit and well," said the Italian, according to The Mirror.
"We need to have his performance in this game and we know we have to pay attention.
"We want to keep the gap between Manchester United at four points, so we have to win.
"It is a good moment for us. We are playing really well, there is confidence in our play and I am happy with this because now is a very important part of the season.
"We will soon be starting the Champions League again, so it is important to stay top of the league.
"Going to Hull is an important test because we are top of the League and we have pressure for this game but I think that for us pressure is not so bad, we can control this and we are doing a good job."
The former Milan coach has confirmed that Drogba will be in the starting line-up at Hull.
