Manchester United Boss Sir Alex Ferguson Praises Inspirational Wayne Rooney
Fergie delighted with his star striker
By Alex Fisher
Sir Alex Ferguson praised match-winner Wayne Rooney after the England striker struck four goals to fire Manchester United back to the top of the Premier League.
“Wayne Rooney’s four goals were the highlight [of the game]” Ferguson told Sky Sports.
“He’s in great goal scoring form.”
However Ferguson was less complimentary about his team’s overall performance despite the comprehensive 4-0 victory over Hull City.
“We played good football at times” he told Sky Sports.
“We were a bit frivolous at times; we took unnecessary risks and really should’ve been punished by Hull.
“For the first 20 minutes we played well but we took our foot off the pedal a bit and in the second half they had one or two good chances.”
