Manchester City Players Didn't Welcome Me When I Arrived - Coach Roberto Mancini

Manchester City coach Roberto Mancini claims he was not shown "any particular welcome" from the players when he joined the club officially on Saturday.

Mancio appears to have settled well in Manchester as he prepares for a Boxing Day fixture against Stoke City. But, the former Inter tactician was left less than impressed with the reception he received once he stepped inside the dressing room at Eastlands. This follows reports from England claiming a squabble with striker Craig Bellamy took place earlier this week.

"The squad did not welcome me in any particular way, there were plenty of players still attached to [Mark] Hughes," he told the 'Qui Studio, A Voi Stadio' programme on Telelombardia.

"I hope that when I leave Manchester City the players will be the same with me."

Mancini has waited for the right opportunity since being sacked by the Nerazzurri in 2008, and he claims it's a "Dream" to be at Eastlands.

"I have always dreamed of coaching in England and to be a manager. Everything is going well here. I have to work hard because it's a new language, new squad and new city, but I am fine," he concluded.
