Tottenham's Niko Kranjcar: 'We Deserved To Beat Manchester City'
Croatian delighted with double for high-flying Spurs...
Niko Kranjcar felt Tottenham's impressive home win against Manchester City was a deserved victory.
A great performance from the Croatian saw the side take full advantage of an overwhelmed City team. Both teams are Champions League hopefuls but this victory suggests Tottenham are a step ahead.
The midfielder felt his side were dominant against Mark Hughes' men.
"Throughout the 90 minutes we were the better team, we created better chances and deserved to win the game," Kranjcar explained to Sky Sports.
"The last three games, especially the last two games [draws against Aston Villa and Everton], we had great performances but didn't get the results.
"We believe we have a squad and talented players who can achieve big goals this season and we hope we will."
Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp was pleased with Kranjcar's performance and felt it was a close call between him and Aaron Lennon for man of the match.
"I would think Niko Kranjcar must have been close. I don't know what he's got to do to get man of the match," Redknapp said.
"The little man [Lennon], we have to keep giving him the ball - that's what I keep telling them to do, give it to him till he's sick of it and if you keep supplying him with the ball he'll keep creating chances."
Redknapp agreed with Kranjcar's assessment of the game, adding: "We were the better team tonight. We thoroughly deserved our win."
