Theo Walcott Ready To Fill Robin Van Persie Void
Arsenal star ready to step-up.
The injury sustained by Robin van Persie while on international duty threatened to scupper Arsenal's strong form as the creative Dutchman had supplied bountiful assists and goals all season.
However, pacy forward Theo Walcott has proclaimed that he would be willing to play up front - heralding it as his position.
The Englishman cemented his first-team comeback during Tuesday evening's 2-0 win over Standard Liege in the Champions League, and stated that his knee "feels fine".
He told The Daily Mail: "I feel great. I have been training well, the fitness coaches and all the staff have been looking after me very well.
"I would love to play up front, it was my position.
"I played up front at Southampton but it has been quite a while. I will play anywhere for this team."
Regarding his injury problems, he added: "The knee feels fine.
"I have spoken to a couple of the players who have had similar problems — Cesc Fabregas and Tomas Rosicky — and they said I would feel it for the first initial weeks but I haven't felt the problem."
