Arsene Wenger Adamant About Rebuking Arsenal Players
Angry Arsene unhappy with misfiring Gunners...
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger believes he was right when he claimed that the Gunners "choked" against Sunderland during their recent 1-0 loss at the Stadium of Light.
A lone goal from Darren Bent was enough to sink to Londoners, who thereby slipped to third place in the Premier League standings - albeit with a game in hand.
And Wenger is refusing to budge, as he believes that his charges were simply not good enough on the given day.
"I did feel it was that bad," said the Frenchman, according to The Daily Mail. "I'm not sorry for what I said.
"I was disappointed by some departments of our game and that is the first time in the season.
"We lost the games against Manchester United and [Manchester] City but there were no deficiencies in our drive going forward and creating chances.
"But against Sunderland we looked more vulnerable on the committed side of our game and that cannot happen."
Arsenal will look to bounce back against Standard Liege at the Emirates Stadium on Matchday 5 of the Champions League, where a win will guarantee them pole position in Group H.
