Manchester City's Stephen Ireland: We Were Robbed At Liverpool

City midfielder disappointed with Liverpool draw...

Stephen Ireland - Manchester City (PA)

Manchester City midfielder Stephen Ireland feels his team were unlucky not to have come out of Anfield with all three points, having drawn 2-2 with Liverpool in the early kick-off.

"Feel a bit robbed to be honest," Ireland told Sky Sports. "We worked really hard to get in a winning position, so it was really disappointing to have drawn the game.

"Hopefully we'll look back at the end of the season and see the draw as a good result."

City have now equalled a club record of six successive draws, but Ireland is not worried that this could affect their bid to break into the top four.

He added, "I don't think it's worrying, drawing is better than losing. Last year we were losing these kind of games, but our away form has really improved. So we have to look at that as a positive."

Goals from Ireland and Emmanuel Adebayor had cancelled out Martin Skrtel's second-half opener but Yossi Benayoun got the vital equaliser for Liverpool.
