Tottenham Hotspur Boss Harry Redknapp: Carlo Cudicini Will Play Again

'Keeper to make a comeback in due course...

Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp believes that Carlo Cudicini will take to the pitch again, but conceded that the Italian faces a long spell on the sidelines.

The goalkeeper's recent motorcycle accident had threatened to end his career, but the former Portsmouth manager is convinced that the 36-year-old will make a full recovery and return to professional football.

"He faces a long, hard road back from this but I think he is going to play again and he is convinced of it," Redknapp said in The Sun.

"He will be on crutches for about 12 weeks. I can't imagine he'll play again this season and most of his early rehab work will have to be done at home.

"
Carlo was in good spirits for someone who has been through a trauma like this. But he is a strong character and a fantastic professional."

Redknapp also admitted that Spurs are keeping tabs on a few 'keepers, but remained coy about the prospect of a splurge in January.

"
We have a few keepers on our books," he said.

"But I am not sure what we will do at present. There has been speculation linking us with several keepers but they are pretty much no-goers."
