Tottenham Hotspur Expect Carlo Cudicini To Make Full Recovery After Motorbike Accident
Spurs hoping Carlo will make full recovery...
The substitute shot-stopper suffered severe injuries after his BMW superbike collided with a Ford Fiesta in Walthamstow, sparking fears that the 36-year-old Italian might never play football again.
Cudicini has since had surgery on a broken pelvis and broken wrists and Spurs are reportedly confident that the Italian will recover from the injuries that were initially diagnosed as "possibly life-changing."
Tottenham assistant manager Kevin Bond told Sky Sports News how pleased he was with the early prognosis: "It's going to take some time, but all being well, he will make a full recovery.
"I don't want to put a further time span on it."
Bond went on to add that he hoped to see Cudicini play for the club again "in the near future."
Head of Medical Services, Wayne Diesel, earlier told the club's website that the operation looked to have been a success: "Both specialists are extremely pleased with the result and expect a good recovery.
"Carlo is in a lot less discomfort than before the operations and is in good spirits.
"The splint on his left wrist has been removed and he now has full use of this wrist.
"He will remain in hospital for a few more days and then be on forearm crutches for about 12 weeks," added Diesel.
