Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini has undergone successful surgery on injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

The 36-year-old was taken to hospital after the crash on Thursday in which he broke his right wrist and pelvis.

The former Chelsea 'keeper had an operation on Friday and could soon be set to be released, according to Spurs' medical staff.

"Both specialists are extremely pleased with the result and expect a good recovery," head of medical services Wayne Diesel told the club's official website.

"Carlo is in a lot less discomfort than before the operations and is in good spirits.

"The splint on his left wrist has been removed and he now has full use of this wrist.

"He will remain in hospital for a few more days and then be on forearm crutches for about 12 weeks."
