Fernando Torres Can Become A Legend At Liverpool - Rafael Benitez

Rafa reckons 'El Nino' could be spoken of in same breath as 'King Kenny'...

Fernando Torres and Rafael Benitez
Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez has hailed Fernando Torres as a player who could go on to become a Kop legend, with the striker fast approaching 50 Premier League goals for the Reds.

'El Nino' is two strikes shy of scoring a half-century for the Anfield outfit, and is on the verge of doing so quicker than any other player in the club's rich history.

Benitez conceded that the Spain international could go into Merseyside folklore by getting to the mark sooner than club legends such as Kenny Dalglish, Ian Rush and Robbie Fowler.

"I think it shows the quality of Fernando," Benitez told the club's official website.

"He has been doing well and it also shows the team has been doing well.

"The list of players shows some big names, legends, and if Fernando can do it he will be a legend too."
