Chelsea Can Stop Manchester United From Winning Premier League Title - Sir Alex Ferguson

Be wary of the Blues, says Fergie...

Sir Alex Ferguson believes that Chelsea are the main threat to Manchester United as the Scot aims to win a historic fourth consecutive Premier League title.

The west London club currently have a two-point lead over the Red Devils in the title race.

"It's looking that way [that Chelsea can win the league]," Ferguson is quoted by the Press Association as saying.

"It seems they will be the ones to get in front of.

"It is a very experienced team. I said last year it is a team that can only improve results by the system they adopt."

The Stamford Bridge outfit have had four different managers in the past two years, but Ferguson insists that his counterpart Carlo Ancelotti has done well to adapt to English football after many years coaching in Serie A.

"Ancelotti has brought in the system he used at AC Milan, with the diamond in the middle of the pitch," he said.

"It is hard to break down when you get into their third because they have got bodies compacted into the central area of the pitch."

The ageing manager went on to compare the Italian to Jose Mourinho, one of his most successful predecessors.

He added: "Jose Mourinho played one up and five in the middle of the park - that also made Chelsea very difficult to beat, but in a different way to what Ancelotti is doing.

"Ancelotti's got the two strikers, and that is a major change compared to Luiz Felipe Scolari and Claudio Ranieri."

United will travel to London to face off with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
